Trent Williams made some troubling allegations against the Washington Redskins last week when his broke his silence about holding out, but he does not want the team or its medical staff to be investigated.
NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith told The Junkies on 106.7 The Fan Monday that Williams has asked the NFLPA to not pursue an investigation and is not planning to cooperate with the Redskins’ investigation. The All-Pro tackle simply wants to put the situation behind him and move on.
Per @DeSmithNFLPA on @JunksRadio – Trent Williams has asked the NFLPA not to pursue an investigation.
He’s upset that the team leaked out information. Also categorizes it as disinformation. Says if it doesn’t stop, they will pursue action.

While the NFLPA will honor Williams’ request, Smith later said in a statement that the union will consider legal action if the Redskins or their team doctors continue to act unethically.

Williams wanted Washington to trade him before last week’s deadline, but they did not accommodate his request. He then reported to the team but failed his physical after saying he was experiencing discomfort while wearing his helmet. Williams later revealed that he had a cancerous growth removed from his head, and the team had previously diagnosed the condition as minor.
The Redskins responded by requesting a committee to review Williams’ medical records, but Williams does not want to cooperate.
Williams has made it clear that he does not want to play for the Redskins, and they will likely try to trade him this offseason. Although, they may find that teams are hesitant to deal with them, as they supposedly left at least one suitor furious with the way they handled the situation at the deadline.
