Video appears to show moment Tyreek Hill quit on Dolphins
Tyreek Hill took himself out of the Miami Dolphins’ season finale against the New York Jets on Sunday, and a video that went viral on social media might show the moment the star wide receiver called it quits.
Hill did not play at all in the fourth quarter of Miami’s 32-20 loss to the Jets. He may have exited for good late in the third quarter, as evidenced by an exchange that was captured during the FOX broadcast of the game.
A group of Dolphins receivers were standing in a circle awaiting the results of a coach’s challenge with 2:35 remaining in the third quarter. Jaylen Waddle could be heard yelling toward the bench area, ‘Hey, Cheetah, you done?”
I found this nugget while rewatching the game. This wasn’t just quitting on his team, it was quitting on everyone who believed in him: the fans, the coaches, and even his family. The moment Waddle asked Reek if he was done, it became painfully clear, he gave up. That choice… pic.twitter.com/uLe4anxuLb

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said after the game that he was informed Hill was unavailable in the fourth quarter. Hill’s agent claimed that the wrist injury the receiver played through this season flared up, which is why Hill came out of the game. Hill’s postgame comments indicated that he no longer wants to play for the Dolphins, however.
McDaniel then made it clear this week that Hill quit on the team. The coach says he met with Hill to clear the air, but the All-Pro has been dropping hints that he wants out of Miami.
The Dolphins will likely try to smooth things over with Hill in the coming weeks. There is no guarantee that they will be successful, especially with rivals already recruiting Hill.
