Tyreek Hill strongly hinted that he no longer wants to play for the Miami Dolphins in a rant he delivered following Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets, but the star wide receiver has not formally requested a trade.
Dolphins general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel spoke with the media on Tuesday for their end-of-season press conference. Grier said both he and McDaniel had “productive conversations” with Hill but that Hill stood by what the All-Pro said after Miami’s loss to the Jets.
Grier claims Hill did not ask for a trade, however.

McDaniel also indicated that he and Hill were able to clear the air. The coach expressed to Hill that it was unacceptable for the wideout to refuse to play late in Sunday’s game. McDaniel said Hill was accountable for his actions.
“We discussed multiple things including, without wavering, that it’s not acceptable to leave the game and won’t be tolerated in the future,” McDaniel said. “He embraced accountability and I wouldn’t say there’s anything necessarily to fix as much as we had to clear the air in a rough and tumultuous situation.”

The Dolphins needed to beat the Jets in order to remain alive in the playoff hunt. Tua Tagovailoa was unavailable due to a hip injury for the second straight game, which forced Tyler Huntley to start again. Miami lost 32-20.
After the game, Hill told reporters that it was “great playing here” but that he is “out.” You can listen to his full comments here.
Hill had just 2 catches for 20 yards on Sunday. He finished his season with 959 receiving yards after having more than 1,700 in each of his first two seasons with the Dolphins.
It is hard to believe Hill is willing to remain in Miami with the telling change he made to his social media profile this week. Even if the Dolphins are open to trading him, they would be wise to maintain as much leverage as possible by denying it.
