Despite his Friday night arrest, Phillips was still set to travel with the team to Las Vegas on Saturday and coach in the team’s game on Sunday.
“Wes immediately notified the team following his arrest last night. This morning we contacted the NFL, and after internal discussion, made the decision Wes will travel with the team to Las Vegas this afternoon. We will continue to gather information regarding the incident and have further comment at the appropriate time,” the Vikings said in a statement.
Phillips, 44, is in his second season with the Vikings. Prior to coaching the Vikings, Phillips coached along with Kevin O’Connell on Sean McVay’s staff with the Los Angeles Rams.
Minnesota is 6-6 entering Sunday’s game.
