Bryson DeChambeau on Sunday won his second US Open championship. The victory also came with a surprising congratulatory message from rival Brooks Koepka.

DeChambeau bested Rory McIlroy in a heated final round at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. DeChambeau made a brilliant bunker shot on the 18th hole to set up his US Open-winning putt (video here).

Koepka posted on X shortly after DeChambeau sank the short putt to seal his victory.

“Welcome to the club 2x [US Open Golf] champ [Bryson DeChambeau],” Koepka wrote in the post.

The beef between Koepka and DeChambeau is well-documented. Fans likely still remember Koepka’s infamous 2021 interview wherein he dissed DeChambeau, who happened to be walking past him.

But Koepka and DeChambeau have appeared to be much friendlier toward one another of late. The congratulatory post from Koepka on Sunday points to their beef being a thing of the past.

DeChambeau became just the 23rd golfer to win two or more US Open titles in the tournament’s 129-year history. He also won the major in 2020. Koepka had been the last to become a 2-time US Open winner after back-to-back wins in 2017 and 2018.
