Bryson DeChambeau goes viral over gesture to young fan

Bryson DeChambeau points at a fan

Bryson DeChambeau had an awesome gesture for a young spectator during the final round of the PGA Championship on Sunday, and the LIV Golf star went out of his way to make sure an overzealous adult fan did not spoil it.

After he finished his front nine at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., DeChambeau tried to toss his golf ball to a young fan who was cheering him on from just behind the spectator rope. A grown man intercepted the ball, but DeChambeau stepped in to make things right.

DeChambeau pointed to the man who caught the ball and kept yelling “hey!” until the fan brought the ball back and handed it to the child it was intended for. A clip of the exchange went viral:

DeChambeau was very much in contention to win the PGA Championship at the time, so he could have just as easily let it go and kept walking. Fans loved that he made sure the young kid ended up with the ball.

Between that gesture and the classy move he made in defeat, DeChambeau definitely gained some new fans over the weekend.
