Xander Schauffele is still searching for his first-ever Masters victory, and he went into Augusta this time with high hopes.
The first day of The Masters kicked off on Thursday at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. And, it didn’t take long for Schauffele to make headlines, but for an odd reason.
Schauffele teed off on the 8th hole, and his tee shot landed right into the bag of a fan who had purchased items from the merchandise store.

Schauffele had to fetch the ball from the bag and put it back onto the course in a bizarre sequence.
Fans wasted no time reacting to the shot.
“What’d you get from the merch shop?”

Xander Schauffele is making his ninth appearance in The Masters, and he has finished in the top 10 in five of the past seven years, so he is trying to get over the hump and get into the top-five range.
In Schauffele’s first round at The Masters this time, he shot 2-under (70), but this shot will be remembered and replayed for quite some time.
