Report addresses the Rory McIlroy-Amanda Balionis dating rumor

Rumors have been flying about Rory McIlroy’s personal life since the PGA Tour star filed for divorce from his wife Erica Stoll, and a new report says the one about CBS reporter Amanda Balionis is not true.

McIlroy filed for divorce from Stoll earlier this month. The two had met in 2012 and have been married since 2017. McIlroy and Stoll had their first and only child together — daughter Poppy in 2020.

Fans also recently noticed that Balionis has not been wearing her wedding ring. The 38-year-old reporter has been married to former North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner since 2022. Balionis had originally changed her name in her social media profiles to “Amanda Balionis Renner,” but her X and Instagram profiles now just call her “Amanda Balionis.”

All of the gossip and internet sleuthing led to a rumor that McIlroy and Balionis might be dating. According to Miranda Siwak of US Weekly, that is not the case. McIlroy and Balionis are “not dating and only have a professional relationship,” the gossip publication says.

There was one recent interview with Balionis and McIlroy that tipped people off about McIlroy’s marital status. Perhaps that is where the rumor about Balionis and McIlory being romantically involved stems from, but the talk never seemed realistic.
