Tiger Woods makes major announcement about Nike partnership
Tiger Woods has yet to reveal when he will play in a tournament in 2024, but the 15-time major champion will have a different look when he does.
Woods issued a statement on Monday announcing that he has parted ways with Nike. Tiger had been with the apparel juggernaut for his entire professional golf career, which has spanned 27 years.

“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world,” Woods said in a statement. “The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever. Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.”
Nike shared a post on Instagram thanking Woods.
Tiger did not say whether he has agreed to an endorsement deal with another company, but he seemed to drop a hint about when he will make his 2024 PGA Tour debut.
“People will ask if there is another chapter,” Woods wrote. “Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!”
The Genesis Invitational will be held at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., from Feb. 15-18. Woods hosts the tournament, so it is possible he is planning to play in it.
Nike stopped manufacturing golf equipment in 2016, but Tiger stuck with the brand. There has been talk that Nike could exit the golf landscape altogether, which may explain why they are splitting with Tiger after nearly three very profitable decades.
