Tyrrell Hatton is known for being one of the most hot-tempered golfers in the world, but it would appear he has a soft spot for a well-timed fart.
Hatton played a practice round on Tuesday at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, N.Y., ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup. As he was taking his club back to hit a drive on one hole, someone laid down a loud fart.
Had the distraction occurred during a meaningful round and not practice, Hatton probably would have blown a gasket. In this case, however, he found it hilarious.

Even during a practice round, the reaction was somewhat unexpected. Hatton, who is from England and representing Team Europe, is known for being a hot head. There have been countless times when cameras caught him cursing during tournaments, and he has even snapped a club or two on the course.
With the U.S. hosting this year’s Ryder Cup and coming off a beating at the hands of Team Europe two years ago, the gallery is expected to be as hostile as ever. If an American fan wants to get into Hatton’s head, he or she should probably consider loading up on hot dogs and beans before the round.
