Xander Schauffele on Monday shared his first social media message since winning the PGA Championship on Sunday.
Schauffele made a birdie putt on the 72nd hole of the PGA Championship to break a tie with Bryson DeChambeau and win the tournament at 21-under par. The victory marked Schauffele’s first career major win.
He shared a photo on X and Instagram of himself holding the Wanamaker Trophy and added the following caption:

“I could not have done it without the support of my team, family and friends. Thank you to the @PGAChampionship and the fans of Louisville, Kentucky. I will never forget my first Major Victory,” Schauffele wrote on X.

The 30-year-old Schauffele had been known for choking big leads and being unable to win the big one. But he finally came through and became the 11th ever golfer to go wire-to-wire as the PGA Champion.
Now he is both a major winner and Olympic gold medalist. That’s a pretty impressive resume.
