Lindsey Vonn broke up with Tiger Woods after the golfer confessed to cheating on her with a hooker, according to a report.
The Daily Mail reports that Woods had sex with a prostitute after withdrawing from the Farmers Open in February citing a back injury. He was said to be down and depressed over the result and sought some female company to help him get over it, a friend told the Daily Mail.
The difference between this situation and the one with ex-wife Elin Nordegren is that Tiger confessed to cheating. He apparently did so because he was spotted, so he didn’t want all the stories to leak out.
After learning that Tiger cheated on her, Vonn wanted to break up, but Tiger reportedly convinced her to try therapy. They went to one session and Vonn decided she was not going to take him back.
The Daily Mail’s source says the cheating wasn’t the only issue between them. Vonn apparently found Woods to be too self-centered.
“She always flew in to be by his side, but he rarely flew to be by her side. A relationship goes both ways. Not just Tiger’s way,” said the source.
“She started to see how Tiger’s really obsessed with himself, his game, making money, controlling everything around him. The girlfriend takes a back seat. Only golf is front and center.
“This really started to bother her. She was turning into a golf wife, and she’s not. She’s an Olympian. Tiger loves her. I’m sure he wished she forgave him when they went to therapy.”
Look, you don’t get into a relationship with Tiger Woods thinking that he’s going to be faithful to you. Had he not said anything, they probably would still be carrying on together.
And we know Woods is struggling with the breakup — he says he has not been sleeping since it happened.
