Blues avoid touching Campbell Bowl trophy after winning series

The St Louis Blues are following the lead of the Boston Bruins as the teams get ready to meet in the Stanley Cup Final.
The Blues whipped the San Jose Sharks 5-1 in Game 6 of the Western Conference final on Tuesday night to clinch the series, their third win in a row in the series. After their victory, they were presented with the Campbell Bowl as the playoff winners of the West. Nobody from their team, led by captain Alex Pietrangelo, touched the trophy:

The Boston Bruins, which swept the Carolina Hurricanes to advance to the Stanley Cup Final, did the same thing and did not touch the Prince of Wales Trophy upon clinching their series.
There is a superstition that you should not touch the trophy until it’s the ultimate one — the Stanley Cup. But from 2016-2018, the three teams did touch their conference trophy and went on to win it all, so maybe the superstition is overrated.
