Brandon Montour mocks Brad Marchand with lick gesture
It has been many years since Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand licked an opponent during a playoff game, but it appears he will never live it down.
There were several tense moments in the third period of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals series between the Bruins and Florida Panthers on Wednesday night. A big fight broke out with just over 8 minutes remaining after the Panthers scored to take a 6-1 lead. During the scuffle, Florida defenseman Brandon Montour taunted Marchand with a licking gesture as referees tried to separate the two players.
The Florida Panthers are who we thought they were. Montour tryna lick Marchy, Tkachuk challenging Pasta to a fight, a guy he knows he can beat.
Bottom line, #NHLBruins got a win out of Florida, took their licks in game 2.

Those who have followed the Bruins know why Montour did that. In 2018, Marchand got into it with Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan and licked Callahan’s face. You can see the video here.
The Panthers got the best of the Bruins in every way possible on Thursday. Between the loss, David Pastrnak getting pounded in a fight, and Montour’s taunt, it was a night to forget for Boston.
The Bruins won Game 1 on Monday night, so the series is tied 1-1 heading back to Boston.
