Maple Leafs fans in shambles after Game 7 loss to Bruins
Toronto Maple Leafs fans watched their team’s season end Saturday in a very familiar fashion.
The Maple Leafs fell 2-1 in overtime of Game 7 in their first-round series against the Bruins at TD Garden in Boston, Mass.
Bruins right winger David Pastrnak finished off a feed from teammate Hampus Lindholm just 1:54 into overtime to send the Leafs home (video here).
Maple Leafs right winger William Nylander provided the lone score for Toronto in the contest. He was assisted by center Auston Matthews, who had just returned from a two-game absence.
Toronto had battled back from a 3-1 hole to tie the series and force a Game 7. However, Maple Leafs fans still ended up seeing their team fail to make the second round.
Maple Leafs fans let their misery be known on social media after the brutal Game 7 defeat.
Honestly embarrassed to be a fan of this team but I’ve had enough. My Matthews jersey is next. #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/3NXzv3Egki

Toronto has failed to advance past the opening round of the NHL playoffs in seven of the past eight seasons. It’s also been over two decades since the Maple Leafs last made the conference finals.
Maple Leafs fans will have to wait at least one more year to see if their team could finally turn its postseason misfortunes around.
