Wayne Gretzky selling Lake Sherwood mansion for $10.5 million
Wayne Gretzky and his wife Janet have been busy making all kinds of real estate moves in Southern California, and it looks like they are ready to unload their latest property.
According to The Real Estalker, the Gretzkys have listed one of their mansions in the exclusive Lake Sherwood area of Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks for $10.5 million. This is a different listing from the Lake Sherwood mansion they sold to Lenny Dykstra for $18.5 million in 2007. The couple also reportedly has a four bedroom, four bathroom place in Lake Sherwood listed for $1.899 million.
The current home listed for $10.5 million has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and is 8,711 square feet. It’s been on the market since Jan. 10 and the price has remained unchanged. It appears that the Gretzkys originally purchased the home for $2.765 million in Nov. 2009 and made significant additions/upgrades. We can confirm they applied for a permit in 2012 to add a swimming pool and spa to the home.
Here’s what is said about the home on Redfin:
Some estates are so exceptional that it merely leaves you breathless from the very first footstep of the front door. 129 Hampstead Court is that property. Each and every square inch of the interiors were composed with architectural integrity and refinement, passion and emotion. Rare is a home built with such consideration. Interplay of decadent textures and clean lines are highlighted by natural light that beams through high soaring windows and doors. The exterior is a personal oasis, reflecting the architectural brilliance of the interiors. This residence distinguishes itself as unparalleled in terms of quality, privacy, luxury and chic sophistication.
Sounds like a place where you’d love to live, right? Below are some more pictures of the beautiful home:
Fun facts: Sherwood Country Club is where Tiger Woods has held his December tournament each year. It’s also where the tennis scene in “Bridesmaids” was filmed.
