Ben Askren already talking trash after news of first UFC fight
Ben Askren is in line for his first fight in the UFC, and he’s already talking trash.
On Monday night, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto tweeted that Askren’s first UFC fight is likely to come against Robbie Lawler at UFC 233 in January.
In response to the news, Askren said a lot of welterweights were “breathing easy right about now” before promising them that their times to lose would come.

Askren, 34, was traded to the UFC by ONE Championship for Demetrious Johnson. The former Olympic wrestler fought in Bellator before ONE and is 18-0 in his career. His accomplishments and undefeated record make him a fighter of intrigue for fans, especially since he hasn’t fought in the U.S. since 2013.
