Gina Carano has not signed with Bellator MMA

Gina Carano

Sorry to spoil all the fun from the rumor mill, but Gina Carano has not signed with Bellator MMA contrary to what some wild rumors suggested on Monday, though she is negotiating with the company.

The rumor mill kicked into high gear after former Bellator fighter Brian Rogers tweeted the following:

MMA manager Hector Castro also had this to say:

Though nothing concrete about Carano has been established, Coenen did hint at some big news with this tweet:

MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani then reported on Tuesday that Bellator is exploring adding a women’s division and that they are negotiating with Carano.

Though Carano may be negotiating with Bellator, I can’t imagine she would actually sign with them. Carano doesn’t need a fight career. The only fight she’d return for is one with Ronda Rousey, and that would be in the UFC. She wouldn’t come back to sign with Bellator, but she could be using this as leverage for talks with the UFC. UFC boss expressed confidence in signing Carano, but he said last month that the negotiations are “complicated.”
