The US wasted no time taking an early lead against France at the Women’s World Cup on Friday.

Megan Rapinoe scored on a free kick in the fifth minute of the match to give the USA a 1-0 lead.

The US is in the quarterfinals of the event and looking to knockout the host country from the event. They already beat Spain 2-1 in the Round of 16.

The winner between the US and France advances to the semifinals to face England, which beat Norway 3-0 in the quarters.
