A junior soccer coach for a youth team in Romania was caught on camera over the weekend attacking and kicking a 16-year-old player.
The coach, who has been identified as Liviu Petrache by a Romanian news outlet, has been relieved of his duties. The attack, which occurred in the bench area, was secretly filmed and has gone viral.

The victim of the attack has been identified as 16-year-old Codrin Tirisca. Another coach was seen looking over at the assault and doing nothing about it.
We can only hope Petrache faces other consequences for his actions aside from simply losing his job. We’ve seen far too many violent acts involving minors in sports this year.
