Antonio Brown will not face criminal charges over at least two Britney Taylor allegations

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown will not be facing criminal charges stemming from at least some of the recent sexual assault allegations that were made against him.

The District Attorney’s Office in Allegheny County, Pa., released a statement on Wednesday confirming that they reached out to the legal team of Britney Taylor, who filed a civil lawsuit against Brown last week. Prosecutors were looking to potentially pursue charges, but there is a two-year statute of limitations in place that prevents them from doing so.

Taylor, Brown’s former trainer and friend, has accused the star receiver of sexually assaulting her on three separate occasions. The first took place in June 2017 in the Pittsburgh area, when Taylor says she was staying at one of Brown’s homes because he had not booked her a hotel room when she visited to help him train. During her stay, Taylor says Brown exposed himself to her and grabbed and kissed her without her consent. You can read more details of the allegations here.

Taylor also says Brown sexually assaulted her later in June 2017 and raped her in the Miami area in 2018, so it’s possible prosecutors from Florida could also reach out to her attorney.

Britney Taylor met with NFL for 10 hours to discuss Antonio Brown allegations

If Antonio Brown is going to convince NFL officials that the sexual assault allegations that were laid out against him in a lawsuit filed last week are untrue, it sounds like he will have to contradict an awful lot of information that the alleged victim provided for the league.

Britney Taylor, the woman who has accused Antonio Brown of sexually assaulting her on three separate occasions, met with the NFL for 10 hours on Monday to provide information, Ana Cabrera of CNN reports.

Taylor has said from the start that she is willing to cooperate with all investigations. The NFL has chosen to wait until hearing both hers and Brown’s account of the events that transpired over the past two years before deciding whether or not to place Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list, and the star receiver will likely have his say at some point this week.

In the lawsuit filed against Brown, Taylor says Brown sexually assaulted her on two occasions in June 2017 and raped her in 2018. Brown’s legal representatives have dismissed the allegations as a “money grab” from a woman who used to have a consensual sexual relationship with the seven-time Pro Bowler.

New allegations against Brown came to light this week when a woman who chose to remain anonymous accused him of similar sexual misconduct to the type Taylor says she had to endure. The NFL could also ask Brown about that alleged incident.

Antonio Brown reportedly rejected $2 million settlement with Britney Taylor

Antonio Brown had an opportunity to reach a settlement with the woman who has accused him of sexually assaulting her on numerous occasions, but the star wide receiver decided not to sign off on the agreement after months of negotiations.

Brown had been discussing settlement options with his former friend and trainer, Britney Taylor, since April and was given a deadline of last Sunday night to sign a proposed agreement, but ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reports that he opted against it. The deadline expired around the same time Brown agreed to a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, and Taylor filed her civil lawsuit in court on Tuesday.

The settlement reportedly would have paid Taylor in excess of $2 million.

Neither the NFL nor the Patriots knew of the allegations against Brown prior to the lawsuit being filed, and that is because the previous discussions between Brown and Taylor were confidential. It’s unclear if Brown verbally agreed to the settlement and then later changed his mind.

Taylor has accused Brown of sexually assaulting her on two separate occasions in 2017 and raping her in 2018. She is scheduled to meet with the NFL on Monday and is willing to fully cooperate with the league’s investigation.

The Patriots supposedly would not have signed Brown had they known about the allegations, but they chose to stick with him after the lawsuit was filed. Brown’s contract with the Patriots includes $9 million guaranteed, and he practiced with the team this week and will play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Britney Taylor to meet with NFL over Antonio Brown allegations Monday

Antonio Brown will not be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list ahead of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, but the star receiver’s status could change as early as next week.

Britney Taylor, the woman who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Brown in court earlier this week, is expected to meet with NFL officials on Monday to discuss the case, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. The league is hoping to wrap its investigation up quickly, so officials will likely meet with Brown later in the week and then determine if any disciplinary action is warranted.

As of now, there have been no criminal charges filed against Brown. That is why the NFL has chosen to wait until speaking with both him and Taylor before making a decision about whether or not Brown should be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list.

Taylor says Brown sexually assaulted her twice in 2017 and raped her in 2018. Brown’s lawyers and agents have dismissed the allegations as nothing more than a “money grab” from a woman who used to be friends with Brown and had a consensual sexual relationship with him. Neither the New England Patriots nor the Oakland Raiders knew of the allegations against Brown prior to the lawsuit being filed, as Brown and Taylor had been in confidential legal talks for months.

Brown is expected to play against the Dolphins on Sunday, and numerous reporters have heard the Patriots will feature him heavily.

Report: Antonio Brown and Britney Taylor were in confidential legal talks for months

Antonio Brown

Representatives for Antonio Brown and Britney Taylor were in confidential legal talks for months about their matter, according to a new report.

Taylor dropped a bombshell on Brown and the NFL when her legal representatives filed a civil lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida Tuesday alleging Brown sexually assaulted her on three occasions. The most serious allegation from Taylor is that Brown raped her in May 2018.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that due to the confidential talks between both sides, neither Brown’s former team, the Oakland Raiders, nor his current team, the New England Patriots, would have known about the matter prior to Tuesday’s filing.

Brown officially signed with the Patriots on Monday, two days after reaching an agreement to sign with them. He was given a one-year deal worth up to $15 million, with $10 million guaranteed.

The NFL is investigating Taylor’s accusations and plans to meet with her next week, Fowler reports. The Patriots reportedly are preparing as if Brown will play in the team’s game on Sunday against the Dolphins. One option the league has is to place Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list, which would remove him from the active roster while allowing him to be paid.

Britney Taylor to meet with NFL over Antonio Brown case after wedding

Britney Taylor, the woman who accused Antonio Brown of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions in a lawsuit she filed this week, is willing to cooperate with NFL officials who want to investigate the allegations further.

Taylor, who is Brown’s former trainer and friend, is planning to meet with the NFL next week. That is the soonest she is available, as she is getting married this weekend.

Taylor has accused Brown of sexually assaulting her twice in 2017 and raping her in 2018. She filed a lawsuit in Florida court on Tuesday and is seeking compensation for “physical injuries, pain and suffering, humiliation, embarrassment, stress and anxiety, loss of self-esteem and self-confidence, and emotional pain and suffering.”

While no criminal charges have been filed, Brown is still subject to the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The league is reportedly giving strong consideration to placing him on the commissioner’s exempt list during the investigation.

Brown signed a contract with the New England Patriots last week, and they were apparently unaware of the allegations against the star receiver before the lawsuit was filed.

Britney Taylor passed lie detector test regarding Antonio Brown allegations

The woman who has filed a lawsuit against Antonio Brown accusing the star wide receiver of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions says she took a lie detector test that confirmed her account of the incidents.

In the lawsuit she filed in the Southern District of Florida on Tuesday, Britney Taylor states that she decided to come forward with the allegations against Brown after having relationship troubles with her fiance and trying to cope with “extreme emotional difficulties.” Taylor sought advice from a leader at her church who also happened to be a former Assistant District Attorney, and he recommended she enter therapy and retain legal counsel. Sometime after that, Taylor underwent a polygraph examination.

The lawsuit states that the polygraph “was conducted by one of the nation’s leading examiners, who previously led the FBI’s polygraph program.” It confirmed Taylor’s account that Brown ejaculated on her without her consent in June 2017 and raped her in May 2018. Messages Brown sent to Taylor also seem to reference the ejaculation event.

Taylor has accused Brown of sexually assaulting her twice and raping her once. The first incident took place earlier in June 2017, when Taylor says Brown exposed himself to her and kissed her without consent. That incident was not mentioned in the lawsuit in relation to the polygraph.

Taylor is not pursuing criminal charges at the moment, but that could change. Brown, who recently signed with the New England Patriots, could also be suspended by the NFL depending on what league investigators learn. There has been talk that he is on the verge of landing on the commissioner’s exempt list.
