Andy Roddick tweets perfect response to Kanye West’s sneaker boast
In a post to Twitter on Wednesday, hip-hop star Kanye West tweeted a claim that he was the “single-highest paid person in footwear” and that he made more money on shoes than even His Airness himself, Michael Jordan.
I am currently the single highest paid person in footwear. That means I make more money on shoes than Michael Jordan.

The incredulous boast was met with ridicule from a skeptical Twittersphere and even got essentially debunked by ESPN business reporter Darren Rovell.
Jordan’s annual take from Nike likely in the $125 million range. I’m going to say Kanye is…um…not anywhere close. https://t.co/psh8DTyYY9

Roddick got in on the fun too and tweeted this hilarious response to Mr. West.
I was better than Federer …. seriously. Just ask anyone who never watched or heard or …….. something https://t.co/4yWVYliQVx

It’s a quality self-roast — though Roddick was one of the best of his generation and the No. 1-ranked player in the world at one time, he had the misfortune of peaking at the same time as Roger Federer, who is widely seen as the greatest tennis player of all-time. Head-to-head, Federer had a career record of 21-3 against Roddick, including a perfect 8-0 in Grand Slam matches.
Jordan probably wouldn’t mind the Federer comparison either since he appears to be a big fan of the Swiss legend.
