Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen should be on cloud nine these days. After leading his team to its first playoff appearance since 1992 and winning the NL MVP award in the process, McCutchen is now engaged. The 27-year-old proposed to his beautiful girlfriend Maria Hanslovan on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday.
McCutchen told Ellen that he brought a video with him, and at first it appeared it was a tribute to the Pirates center fielder and his phenomenal season. After a few baseball highlights, it turned into a story about how he and Hanslovan met. McCutchen then called Maria on stage and proposed. She said yes.
Congratulations to the happy couple, and props to McCutchen for killing the proposal. He rolled out the red carpet.
