Blue Jays reportedly acquire Scott Feldman
It may not be the godsend pitching acquisition the Toronto Blue Jays were hoping to get, but it will do.
According to a report by Brian McTaggart of MLB.com on Monday, the Blue Jays have acquired right-hander Scott Feldman from the Houston Astros.

The 33-year-old Feldman has pitched mostly out of the bullpen for the Astros this season, going 5-3 with a 2.90 ERA in 26 appearances. While he may not be the pitcher Toronto had in mind after pursuing Ervin Santana and CC Sabathia, amongst other starters, Feldman gives them flexibility as a starter or a reliever, which could allow for Aaron Sanchez to be moved into the pen.
Feldman’s contract expires at the end of the season, but he should give the Blue Jays some useful situational versatility in the short-term.
