Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis reportedly have broken up
Derek Jeter is a lifelong New York Yankee, but he may be heading into spring training as a free agent.
The veteran shortstop has broken up with model Hannah Davis, who was his girlfriend for less than a year. The New York Post says the two have “gone their separate ways” and that part of the problem was Jeter didn’t like Davis’ fame growing as much as it has.
Davis appeared in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition last year and gained more recognition as DirecTV’s genie.
“Derek likes to keep his relationships quiet. In the past, when his girlfriends become famous and start doing sexy shoots, that’s when they break up. Exactly the same thing happened with Minka and Vanessa Minnillo,” a source told the Post.
Minka is Minka Kelly, an actress who was known for her role in “Friday Night Lights,” and the best-looking of all Jeter’s girlfriends in this man’s opinion. When Jeter and Kelly broke up in 2011, reports said the shortstop didn’t like how much she was working.
Who knows what the real story is, but what it sounds like is this was a short-lived relationship. Now Jeter has the chance to go find another model. We’re sure he doesn’t mind.
