Dan Gilbert shoots down rumors that he plans to move Cavs out of Cleveland
The Cavaliers will remain in Cleveland as long as Dan Gilbert is their owner.
In a tweet Thursday, Gilbert shot down what he called “silly rumors” that he plans to move the team, saying he would never relocate them from Cleveland.
CLE,Let's put any silly rumors to rest: I will never move the Cleveland Cavaliers out of Cleveland. Period. And that's unconditional.@cavs

The Cavs have been in Cleveland since their inception in 1970, and Gilbert has owned them since 2005. But rumors of a possible move began this week when Gilbert nixed a plan for a $140 million renovation of Quicken Loans Arena. Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear that has any bearing on the team’s future in Cleveland, even if they are facing a highly uncertain future in other regards.
