The transgressors get away unscathed while the current players who are (probably) abiding by the rules are left to bear the penalty.

Same for football whenever they get around to keeping USC out of a bowl game…players who were in junior high at the time Reggie and family broke rules, who aren’t driving around in SUVs and families not getting houses provided, bear the brunt.

And, yes, the 1965 Heisman Trophy winner should swing.
