Former Miami star Shane Larkin was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 18th overall selection in the 2013 NBA Draft on Thursday and then immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He became the highest Hurricane selected in 48 years and was the only Miami player taken in the draft. Larkin celebrated his memorable evening with the young lady you see above in white, who by all indications is his girlfriend.
As you learned from our post on NFL Draft WAGs earlier this year, we like to keep our eyes peeled for the better halves of the athletes as they begin their professional careers. Larkin’s girlfriend, who goes by Priscilla Miranda on Twitter, appears to be a great catch. She certainly seemed happy for Shane on Thursday night. Here’s another picture of the happy couple:
Exciting times…exciting times, indeed. Larkin should give the Mavericks’ backcourt an immediate boost if he plays like he did with Miami last season. In a draft that was dominated by Trey Burke talk, he could wind up being one of the most underrated guards in the nation.
