Report: Warriors may consider run at Ray Allen
The Golden State Warriors may already boast the Splash Brothers, but they might just need a wise old Splash Uncle to complete their roster.
According to a report by Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders on Tuesday, the Warriors have been pushing to sign veteran sharpshooter Ray Allen since 2014 and could once more make a run at the all-time three-point leader this summer on a veteran’s minimum deal.
The Warriors have pushed for a Ray Allen comeback since 2014. Ray has stayed in shape. His vet minimum would be $1,551,659. GS likely calls.

Allen, 40, has been in a state of unofficial retirement since the end of the 2013-14 season, when he averaged 9.6 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, and 2.0 assists per game on 37.5 percent shooting from deep for the Miami Heat. He has since turned down multiple offers to return to the league.
The 10-time All-Star has a reputation for always keeping himself in tip-top physical condition. Should Allen choose to give it another go in the NBA, it’s hard to imagine a more attractive situation right now than the Warriors, who just made the splash of all splashes by landing Kevin Durant.
Make the jokes about the Warriors needing more shooting if you must, but the spacing for the second unit actually was surprisingly cramped at times last season with Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa in the backcourt. If Allen, who wouldn’t be the first ring-chasing veteran to show interest in Golden State, wants a gig as a limited-minute three-point mercenary on a championship favorite, Golden State might be a heap of fun for him.
