Looks like Bo Ryan’s succession plan is working out after all.
Greg Gard is expected to have his interim tag removed and be named the permanent head coach at Wisconsin. Gard took over the head coaching job in mid-December after Ryan suddenly stepped down. The plan was for Ryan to step down after the season and hand the job to Gard, but Ryan decided to hang it up earlier than expected.
Since taking over as head coach this season, Gard has led the Badgers to a 13-6 record, including wins over Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa and Maryland.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman says the announcement is expected to come at some point either Monday night or Tuesday. The deal is reportedly for five years at $2 million per season.
