The malice in the Palace was bad enough and certainly nothing I thought I would ever see. Then again, you never know what’s going to happen when we’re talking about live games. This time Marquette and Providence were playing in Rhode Island which happens to be the home state of Friars’ guard, Jeff Xavier. Naturally he had some hometown fans there to support him, including his brother, Jonathan Xavier. Early in the second half, Jeff drove to the rack and was fouled, taking an elbow straight to the face. His eye wound up closing shut and his brother was not too happy about the non-call on the play. Jonathan Xavier then decided to voice his frustration in the strangest of ways. Check out the madness:

Xavier was taken to a police station where he’ll be booked with disorderly conduct. Yeah, that’s definitely putting it mildly. I’ve never seen anything like that, particularly in a live TV game of such a large scale. A rec league game or something I understand, but a college game, are you kidding me? Nobody can ever say Jonathan doesn’t have his brother’s back and I’m not sure that’s a good thing. Yikes.

I love how the announcers say that they’re not sure what happened.
Yeah, that because you’re busy gabbing instead of watching the game.

there’s a nut in just about every family… what’s the big deal… not like he assaulted anyone… his bro needs help! …go find something constructive to write about… blame the dunk for lousy security…. incident should never have happened… move on!
