The internet just gives the fan base a bigger place to vent their frustrations (fireronzook.com). The fanbase has always been ready to fire a coach who is losing. They could not call all their friends and take out a small ad in the local paper to tell everyone in the past. Today they can get a free website via blogger or wordpress and in about 10 minutes they can let the world know.

Whatever, Grampa. Go back to bed and quit spitting on me.

It seems to me that Lou's the one losing credibility here.

[...] That being said: not all blogs and bloggers are bad. Really, it’s true. So when I read what Lou Holtz said this morning on Mike and Mike (via our boy Larry Brown) it’s a tad disheartening. Former college football coach and current analyst Lou Holtz was a guest on Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Tuesday. Erik Kuselias, who was filling in for Greeny, was ranting about all the college football coaches that resigned were fired the past few weeks. As Kuselias said, and I agree, some of the coaches probably didn’t deserve to be replaced because they did a pretty good job. When Holtz was asked specifically about Arkansas getting rid of Houston Nutt, he answered with a broad generalization: [...]

You didn't just compare being a college footbal coach and the heat they receive from their fanbase to being a blogger, did you? I enjoy reading blogs and the funny little comments and jabs as much as the next dork, but don't let your "success" go to your head. You sound like a one of those crying newspaper guys right now.

1. In a way he's right, but it's still idiotic to think that bloggers, with limited sources, no access to team officials, players or boosters, wield that much influence.

2. Mark May is fed up with this.
