If it comes to pass, they will be most ungrateful. The guy is old and their program is not what it used to be, but he deserves to go out on his own terms, and maybe he can even bring the program back up. Look at Joe Pa at Penn State. He had quite a few worse seasons than Florida State has had and people were calling for his head. Now, Penn State is back near the top, even if Joe isn't doing it by himself anymore. Bobby Bowden has done more for Florida State than Joe Paterno did for Penn State. The latter had a pretty decent program under Rip Engle before he took over. The former had virtually no program when Bobby Bowden took over. His string of top four finishes will be difficult for anyone to duplicate. He has earned the right to go out on his own terms. The injury to Christian Ponder, who is a gamer, should not be a deciding factor in the removal of Bobby Bowden. It should be a nonfactor.
