Tom Gamboa Attacker Organized Drive-By Shooting

You remember that insane attack on Royals coach Tom Gamboa back in ’02 by the insane father and son team?  To refresh your memory, William Ligue Jr. who was 34 at the time, and his son Michael Ligue who was 15 at the time, jumped onto the field in the middle of a Royals/White Sox game and attacked first base coach Tom Gamboa, leaving him with cuts and bruises.  The Ligues were charged with aggravated battery, with son Michael being charged on two juvenile counts of battery because he also hit a security guard.  Now that you have the background, the news I tell you about next should not come as a surprise.  Apparently son Michael Ligue plotted a drive-by shooting in Chicago Ridge

Ligue, now 19, his 18-year-old girlfriend and three other friends are charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony that carries up to 15 years in prison. Judge Colleen McSweeney Moore set bail at $200,000 for Ligue. The teen was free on bond on a January cannabis charge.

How’s the father doing you ask?

William Ligue Jr., 39, remains in state prison on a 57-month sentence for violating his original probationary sentence. He is slated for release in June, according to the prison’s Web site.

Now that’s some quality parenting.  And shame on me…I thought the son was entering his freshman year at Harvard following the quality tutelage of his father.  What was I thinking?
