Christy Mack hears it from War Machine supporters after being pictured in Las Vegas

Christy Mack

Christy Mack found herself fighting off criticism from War Machine supporters after being photographed out in Las Vegas two weekends ago.

A Twitter user snapped a photo of Mack on Aug. 23, eight days after War Machine was captured by US Marshals for his alleged assault on Mack and another man, Corey Thomas.

After the photo was shared on Twitter, some started to question Mack about the extent of her injuries. Mack responded and defended herself.

Mack still has a lot of surgical repairs needed to get back to normal. She says she needs reconstruction on her nose and teeth. She recently got root canals for her fractured teeth.

McKayla Maroney: Leaked nude photo is fake

McKayla Maroney

McKayla Maroney responded to the alleged nude photos of her that were leaked online Sunday and called them fake.

Here’s what Maroney tweeted Monday morning about the photos:

So far that makes Maroney and Victoria Justice saying their photos were not real, while Jennifer Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Winstead say theirs are real. With so much uncertainty surrounding the photos, they might as well say they are fake.

McKayla Maroney, Hope Solo pictures leaked

McKayla Maroney not impressed

Nude photos of a number of celebrities were leaked onto the web Sunday causing a mass hysteria for obvious reasons. The nude pictures of Jennifer Lawrence and Victoria Justice captured mostly everyone’s attention — no surprise.

The Lawrence nude selfies look like ones she took using her phone. Same deal with Justice, though she at least was smart enough to cover up in the pics (and she denied on Twitter that the pics were real). Lawrence confirmed the photos were of her and her attorneys are acting aggressively.

Kirsten Dunst, Teresa Palmer, Becca Tobin, Jessica Brown Findlay, Kristen Ritter and Mary Elizabeth Winstead were other actresses/models who had photos leaked.

Two notable athletes were also part of the group: Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney and soccer goalie Hope Solo.

Alleged nude photos of Justin Verlander and girlfriend Kate Upton also were leaked.

Maroney later tweeted that the photos of her were fake:

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union got married on Saturday night in Miami in front of many fellow celebrities. The wedding took place at Chateau Artisan castle in Miami, a day after the rehearsal dinner was held at Prime 112 steakhouse.

You may recall all the fuss about privacy at the wedding ahead of time.

Guests were forced to sign confidentiality agreements saying they would not take photos at the wedding or anything else of the like. In fact, guests were not allowed to bring their cell phones to the event. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t get some tastes of how things were; many guests shared pre-wedding pictures on social media.

Homeless Jackie Robinson West Little Leaguer gets rent paid for thanks to donation

Jaheim Benton Chicago

A sad story about one of the Jackie Robinson West Little Leaguers took a happy turn thanks to the generous act of one business owner.

Jackie Robinson West Little League, which represented the Great Lakes region at the Little League World Series, won the US championship before losing to eventual world champion South Korea. One of the team’s players, Jaheim Benton, returned to a difficult situation when the team got back to Chicago: his family is split up because they are between homes.

The Chicago Sun-Times published a story Friday about Benton’s situation that made it onto the cover of the sports section. The paper talked to Benton’s mother, who described the family’s financial situation.

Benton’s mother, Devona, works as a home care provider and lost three clients, leading her to go from 40 hours of work per week to around 18. Jaheim’s father, Frank Jackson, works as a part-time radiator technician. Their combined earnings as part-time employees were not enough to pay for a 3-bedroom apartment on Chicago’s South Side, leading them to lose their home in June.

While the family tried to regain its financial stability, Jaheim was staying with his father at a family friend’s home. Despite the hardships, Benton’s parents were able to escape reality and drive out to Williamsport to support him and the team.

After being moved by Benton’s story, Spencer Leak Jr., from Leak and Sons Funeral Home in Chatham, decided to pay the family’s rent for a year.

“They have united the city,” Leak said of the Little League team. “They have united the country. And now, they are known all over the world.

“I would hope that this rent turns into a mortgage that turns into home ownership for them,” said Leak Jr to ABC Chicago. “We want our little superstar to have a roof over his head because that’s what he is. He’s a superstar.”

Benton went 0-for-5 with 3 strikeouts and 5 runs scored in Williamsport. He’s entering 7th grade this year and has plans to play high school ball. His dream is to play for the Chicago White Sox. And, for now, he has a much more stable financial situation.

Mo’ne Davis and Steve Harvey do ‘Jump On It’ dance (Video)

Mo’ne Davis has been on a press tour since her run at the Little League World Series came to an end last week.

Davis was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, participated in a parade in Philly on Wednesday, and she was in Chicago on Tuesday to record an interview on the “Steve Harvey Show.”

Mo’ne zinged a couple of fastballs on the stage, and then she and Harvey broke it down by doing the “Jump On It” dance together. At first it was Mo’ne going hard on the dance but after a little, Harvey really got into it. He was so into it that Mo’ne even backed off for a moment to let him do his thing.

Mo’ne Davis has sick handles in basketball (Video)

Mo’ne Davis gained fame last week as the star pitcher for the Taney Dragons who became the first girl to win a Little League World Series game.

Representing the Mid Atlantic region, Davis went 1-1 with a 2.16 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 8.1 innings for Taney. She also was 1-for-8 with two walks.

Despite her success playing baseball through this point of her life, Davis has stated that her goal is to play point guard for UConn’s women’s basketball team, which is the top program in the country. As the video at the top shows, Davis has some pretty serious dribbling skills.

That video is over four years old, meaning the 13-year-old Davis was probably 9 or 10 when it was recorded. We imagine she’s still embarrassing opponents with her superior skills.
