Bill Belichick has classic response to question about black eye (Video)

As expected, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was in a testy mood when he met with reporters on Thursday in the wake of some disturbing reports about star defensive end Chandler Jones. He began with a generic statement about how important the well-being of the team’s players is, and he refused to add anything after that.

But he did give a response when asked about his black eye. Granted, the response was one word.

When ESPN’s Michele Steele asked Belichick about how he hurt his eye and how it was feeling, he didn’t exactly answer both parts of the question.

“Great,” Belichick said with a death stare.

As you can see from this photo of Belichick’s eye, the swelling has not improved much since earlier in the week. While the coach has given no indication of how he got the shiner, he may have trolled reporters on Wednesday when he walked through the locker room holding boxing gloves.

If you want to know the latest on Jones, you can read about it here. We all knew Belichick wasn’t going to provide any worthwhile updates.
