Brian Urlacher on Tim Tebow: ‘He’s a Good Running Back’

It’s becoming quite clear that nothing embarrasses an NFL defense more than losing to Tim Tebow. Last week, it was Vikings DE Jared Allen who said he would have bet his entire paycheck that Tim Tebow wouldn’t have beaten them throwing the ball. He did. Before the Bears played the Broncos Sunday, linebacker Lance Briggs said Chicago was going to have to stop the Tebow crap. They kept the Broncos scoreless for 57 minutes, but they allowed Tebow to do enough to win. Linebacker Brian Urlacher was bitter after the defeat.

“He’s a good running back,” Urlacher said of Tebow after the game. “He does a good job for them.”

That running back just beat you, Brian. Maybe it’s time to give him credit for doing something you couldn’t do: win the game.

Oh yeah, that running back also had 236 yards passing and a touchdown. He ran for 49 yards on 12 carries. And he got the win. Scoreboard Brian, scoreboard.

All I can say is wow… Tebow is amazing. He was off early and his receivers kept dropping balls but they played as a team from the 4th quater on. There’s no doubt they believe they can win if the game is close and it’s fun to watch. Tebow is a leader and you can’t take that away from him. 7-1, period.

    Is not
amazing to me to see Tebow prove everybody wrong; even know when people make
fun of him. Tebow is a remarkable human being and a true Christian living his
life fully committed to his faith, and that is what make the different. I know
that his style is not what coaches are used to have as QB of the future, but
this guy have hearth and inspire his teammates to overcame adversity and win.
The bottom line in the NFL is just winning. That is the cold reality. Tebow is
a very good athlete and GOD is giving him what he deserves for his perseverance
and faith. I know you guys will laugh, but that is OK. As long Tebow knows what
I am taking about, it is fine will me. I want to clarify that the Broncos as a
Team, they had played excellent as a cohesive unit. The winning times belong to
the BRONCOS team and not just Tebow. Guys do not let anybody to spoil this team
unity. Tebow is only one especial player, and he knows that. Tebow had save his
coach head and he should admit. I know that going into the playoffs the BRONCOS
are going to face teams with power offenses and it will be very unlikely to
continuing winning. But for sure I know that, if GAD had decided TEBOW to go
all the way, there will not be a team to beat DENVER.

    I hope
Coach Smith that you are not that surprise of the big loss to DENVER and
realize that for a team just to relay only on a SOLID DEFENSE won’t cut it. I
predicted that Chicago needed it an experienced QB to be able to score more
points, in order to advance to the playoffs and you see the results. Brian may
be the best defensive player in this league and he and his unit are taking the
blame when he said that 10 pints were enough to win that crucial game. But in
reality, coach Smith you know that you underestimate TEBOW and remain OVER
confident on your solid DEFENSE. In reality, the way teams like the Packers,
Saints, and New England are scoring points, 10 points to win a game is not even
close. Just imaging Coach Smith your team facing the New Orleans Saints, o
worse the Green Bay Packers? Now you are against the wall, what is going to be
your solution? Coaching is not that simple. Good luck.

Urlacher’s comment was classless and jab, and ripe with all the stench of a SORE LOSER.  I’m not a Broncos fan…I’m a New Orleans native, and a life-long, die-hard Saints fan.  That said, I root for Tebow.  He’s not an elite QB…not a great QB…not even a good QB.  But the intangibles he brings to the game are electrifying…he’s phenomenal athlete, a fierce competitor, and the personification of “team.”  As for Urlacher, I hope the cold, hard light of a new day has helped you feel as silly as your comments yesterday were.  Your feeble attempt to downgrade a guy who despite being unsuccessful throughout the first 57 minutes of the game, was able to rip hand your team the “L” in only TWO MINUTES…well, frankly sir, it’s made you look PRET-TY lame.
I look forward to ESPN Monday Night Countdown, and the prospect of Ditka giving Urlacher the “C’MON MAN” salute for his unsportsmanlike comments.

In the heat of battle people say things and they come out wrong. Brian is a good atilete and he put his foot in his mouth. Football is a great sport and with what has happened with Tim Tebow is a great story. The thing is it has happened and will someday end but what a treat for us true fans that are seeing something great happen right before our eyes. If Tim has not gained your respect as a fan by now, then there is no hope for you. The thing is this is a team that has won because they believe in the guy. Tim praises his players and yes even the oponet , how great is that, never heard him yet say how good he is, just that he needs to get better.

First i just want to say WOW, it continues on and every man on that team deserves credit for what is happening in The Mile High City! But this guy named Tebow has really helped these guys believe they can win every time they go out on the field, just as he did in college! I’m an LSU fan and to be totaly Honest i despised this guy and it was ONLY because he was a WINNER and NOT for any other reason! He has brought his magical way of playing a big role in having the other 52 men get on his back and let him be who he is and for that makes them all better players. Now hear me when i say that NOT ONE TEAM can ever win without every man on their sideline as we all know and the Denver Defense deserves a tremendous amount of credit for giving Tim some chances to get them back into a game when down and THEY HAVE DONE THAT and he and the rest of the offense certainly have answered some pretty short bells meaning that with little time on the clock they have been able to get the job done with some great catches by the receivers and what seems to be what brings out Tim’s best play during many of these last 8 games he has played in with this hurry up approach! Last but CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, a field goal kicker makes a 59 yarder to tie and get them to OT and then to hit what seemed like a chip shot for this guy hitting a 51 yarder in OT, WOW what a Great story! I know one thing for sure i’m happy he’s not at Florida anymore and that he is proving that he can win in the GREATEST FOOTBALL LEAGUE IN THE WORLD, I wish My Cowboys would have got him as we let another one get away this weekend and the losing is getting old because for 40 plus years now i am used to being a fan of a team that only winning early and often is acceptable! WHAT ARE WE DOING JERRY, trying to break a record for the most years in a row that we keep giving away the NFC East lead and then ultimately any playoff chances we may have had? Even when we do or if we do make it in then we are one and done are two and Barbeque at best! THE COWBOY NATION DEMANDS MORE THAN THIS LESS THAN MEDIOCRITY!!!!!!! Also it seems that Brian the ALWAYS talked about every game he plays “HALL OF FAMER” Urlacher…….SO SICK OF HEARING IT, you would think he is the only guy that suits up on defense for the Bears with the way the anouncers NEVER STOP WITH THIS CRAP! Even though their defense is very suspect at times, IMO i know there are some other guys who rarely get the attention and the hype that he gets! AND THEY TALK ABOUT TEBOW getting more than he deserves, favoritism is a funny thing depending on whos getting or lets say not getting it……………………………………

I am sorry but why do people giving him crap all the time, from so called experts to players?Just cause he’s winning and believes in his faith and players everyone mocks him.Tell me you people who make fun of him if he was a muslim would you keep running your mouths?I highly doubt it you would cause the vast majority of you are hyprocites.

I also find it funny that he doesn’t go out drinking, going to strip clubs, raping underage girls or boys, doesn’t carry a gun or shoot himself, doesn’t get into fights, doesn’t use negative tones towards anyone, doesn’t beat on his spouse if he had one,he isn’t covered in tattoo’s,doesn’t speak like he is some ghetto thug trash heap that majority of the NFL players are.

Instead he worked hard at being educated, believes in his faith, believes in his
team mates, doesn’t have sour grapes if he looses instead says he needs to get better.SO what is wrong with him doing a kneel down and saying a quick prayer?NOTHING….you just don’t like him so you all become negative nancy’s  towards him so i say keep the faith Tim don’t let these so called expect get you down.
