The Carolina Panthers dropped to 1-5 on the season with a 41-38 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and to make matters worse, quarterback Cam Newton got the wool pulled over his eyes by a young Saints fan.
Newton scored on a two-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter and went on to give the ball to a kid in the stands, as has been customary practice for him the last several years. But, as Christopher Dabe of the Times-Picayune relayed, there was just one problem: the kid, who had been wearing a Newton Panthers jersey, was actually a double agent and took it off to reveal a Saints jersey underneath after getting the football from Newton.
The kid who got the ball from Cam Newton just took off his Newton jersey and had a #Saints jersey underneath. That’s some trickery.

That’s one kid whose trolling game is well beyond his years. For Newton, who had just been cleared on Saturday to take the field against the Saints and promptly presided over his team’s fourth straight loss, it looks like he was hit with a classic case of insult added to injury.
