Report: Cowboys, other teams reached out about Mark Sanchez trade
The Denver Broncos have reportedly received multiple calls about Mark Sanchez since they announced on Monday that Trevor Siemian well be the team’s Week 1 starting quarterback.
According to Jane Slater of the NFL Network, one of those inquiries came from the Dallas Cowboys.
Denver has contacted Dallas about a trade for Mark Sanchez. The Cowboys are not interested in a trade if it involves his current salary.

Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole added that the Cowboys are one of “many teams” that have called the Broncos about Sanchez.
The Broncos could save more than $4.5 million by releasing Sanchez, but they obviously want to see if they can get something for him first. With a number of teams looking for veteran backup help, it’s possible they can steal a late-round draft pick.
Obviously, the Cowboys are suddenly thin at quarterback. Dak Prescott will step in as the starter with Tony Romo out, but Romo could miss up to 10 weeks. Should something happen to Prescott during that time, Dallas needs depth.
If you want to know how Sanchez feels about the way he played this preseason, just read his recent comments. Teams would need to be really desperate to give up anything of value for him.
