David Wilson to make pro track debut

David-Wilson

Former New York Giants running back David Wilson has moved on from football and is preparing to make his pro track debut on Saturday.

Wilson, who was forced to retire from football at age 23 last year because of a neck injury, will be competing in the triple jump at the adidas Grand Prix in Randall’s Island, N.Y. He noted on Instagram that he is recovering from a hamstring injury but must compete, as this is his last chance to qualify for the USA Championships.

Wilson announced his retirement from football last summer with an incredibly heartbreaking press conference, but he has since remained upbeat. He said back in November that he has made it a goal to compete in the 2016 Olympics, and we hope he is able to make that happen.
