Derek Wolfe will be doing everything he can to stop Cam Newton in the Super Bowl on Sunday, but he will not disrespect his counterpart if he does get a sack in the game.

Wolfe, a pass rusher who had 5.5 sacks in 12 games for the Broncos this season, told Larry Brown Sports that he plans to do his usual howl if he brings down Cam in the backfield. But anything more than that is out of the question.

“I don’t need to disrespect (Cam Newton) in any way,” Wolfe told LBS.

Wolfe was pretty buttoned up when LBS interviewed him during the week. He wouldn’t diverge any tricks or game-plan items, only saying the Broncos just need to be disciplined on defense.

He also said the team liked being underdogs for the game.

“We’ve been underdogs all year. It’s nothing new. We’re used to it. We know how good we are, we know that we’re going to be just fine.”

You can see the interview below:

“We want to be Super Bowl champions and they’re in our way. They’re in my way, that’s that.”
