Eli Manning Says it Would be ‘Interesting’ to Have Peyton Playing in New York

New York is slowly becoming Eli Manning’s city when it comes to football. The Jets have commanded plenty of attention since Rex Ryan arrived in the Big Apple, but Eli and the Giants have won a Super Bowl recently and are close to reaching another.

There are rumors that the Jets will be interested in Peyton Manning should the Colts quarterback become available in a few months. When asked about the possibility of his brother playing quarterback in the same city as him, Eli seemed open to the idea.

“I don’t know what is going to happen in that situation,” Manning said on ESPN 1050. “Would it be fun? Yeah, I think it would be interesting to have your brother in the same city playing football together.

“It would be interesting. I am not saying it is going to happen or I want it to happen, but to have your brother that close to you and playing in New York would be very unique.”

I believe the Colts will draft Andrew Luck and end up releasing Peyton Manning. I think they’d rather keep him, but I’m guessing Peyton will want out. Both the Jets and Redskins have been mentioned as likely landing spots for Peyton if he becomes available, and I think New York is more probable. The Jets are close to winning and they know that. Washington still needs more pieces offensively and will likely build with a younger quarterback who can be there for a while.
