Jets offer Terron Beckham, cousin of Odell, tryout at minicamp
Could there be another Beckham playing football in New York soon?
It’s possible, as the New York Jets have invited Odell Beckham Jr.’s cousin, Terron Beckham, to their rookie minicamp for a tryout.
Beckham, who a year ago was angling to open a personal training business, impressed TEST Sports CEO Kevin Dunn at a bodybuilding event and, before he knew it, was running drills for NFL teams. Despite his lack of football experience, he put up crazy numbers, benching 225 pounds 36 times and running the four yard dash in 4.40 seconds at one point.
“I’m shaking right now, boss,” Terron Beckham told Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News on Saturday.
Can Terron Beckham make catches like this? Well, probably not yet. He’s raw, and if he even sticks he has a lot to learn. Still, he’s an impressive physical specimen, and stranger things have happened.
