PETA wants Dez Bryant investigated for ‘possible illegal possession’ of monkey
Dez Bryant expanded his family last month when he adopted a pet monkey, but animal organizations are working to force him to give it up.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that PETA has been in touch with local animal control to request that Bryant be investigated for possible illegal possession of a monkey. Yes, seriously:

PETA’s Brittany Peet: “Monkeys belong in the wild—not (for) football players who acquire exotic animals just to make a splash on Instagram.”

PETA is not the first organization to question Bryant’s new pet, as the co-founder of the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance said last week that it is wrong for the monkey to be in Bryant’s possession.
“A baby capuchin monkey is completely irresponsible to have,” April Truitt told TMZ. “This animal can easily live 30 to 40 years of its life. I guarantee you it won’t be in his possession that long. Instead he will be begging someone like me to take this animal off his hands. It’s inevitable.
“I guarantee you this was an expensive purchase and he will live to regret it — I guarantee you.”
This is already shaping up to be a long week for Bryant, who was fuming with the media after Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Cowboys star might end up losing his beloved pet before next weekend’s game.
