There must be something about
MNF that weirds out wide receivers. In the 1970’s, Pittsburgh wide receiver Dave Smith spiked a ball on the two yard line and it rolled through the end zone for an embarrassing touchback.

It’s a shame nobody picked up the ball. I was screaming about that even before the replay. Jerry Rice used to do this all the time and get away with
it. The NFL rule on something like that should be the ball turned over to ther other team at the spot or 20 yard line.
