Report: Dansby Swanson expected to be available for start of playoffs
Dansby Swanson is expected to be available for the start of the playoffs, according to a report.
Swanson left Tuesday’s Atlanta Braves-New York Mets game with a left hand injury. He underwent testing that revealed he has a partially torn ligament in his left hand. Braves reporter Mark Bowman says the shortstop will be re-evaluated next week.

Bowman also reported that the Braves have not ruled Swanson out for the NLDS, which begin on Thursday, Oct. 4. Another reporter is taking things a step further and says Swanson is expected to be available for the game.
WSB’s Zach Klein reported on Wednesday that those close to Swanson expect him to be available when the series begins.
Charlie Culberson, who was a postseason sensation while filling in for Corey Seager on the Dodgers last year, will play shortstop for the Braves while Swanson is out. Culberson is batting .279 with 12 home runs and an .816 OPS this season.
