Carlos Correa: Dallas Keuchel has been ‘even better’ than Cy Young year

Those who were worried that Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel may not return to form after his down year in 2016 can relax now.

Keuchel pitched six innings and allowed just five hits and no earned runs in a win over the New York Yankees Thursday night. He’s now 6-0 on the season with a 1.69 ERA. His stuff looks as good as it did when he won the NL Cy Young Award in 2015, but teammate Carlos Correa insists it is even better at the moment.

Correa on Keuchel: "He's even better than his Cy Young year."

After they barely missed the playoffs last season, the Astros are off to an MLB-best 24-11 start. They’re firing on all cylinders, and Keuchel is leading the charge with his lights-out performances on the mound. He says he’s enjoying every second of it.

Keuchel: "It's been a fun ride so far. I can only imagine how much more fun it's going to get."

— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) May 12, 2017

Keuchel: "We've got table-setters, we've got big boppers, we've got speed guys, we've got base-cloggers. We've got it all."

— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) May 12, 2017

With the way Keuchel has been pitching, you have to wonder if he made any guarantees to his family before the start of the season like he did back in 2015. He’s been borderline untouchable through his eight starts.
