Chris Sale has bizarre admission about infamous jersey-cutting incident

It has been nearly six years since Chris Sale chose to take out his frustrations on some innocent pieces of fabric. But the wildest part of the incident is only now emerging.

In an Instagram Live session on Thursday, Sale addressed his notorious jersey-cutting incident from 2016 when he was a member of the Chicago White Sox. Sale disagreed with the team’s decision to wear new throwback-style jerseys because he felt that they would mess up his pitching mechanics. The left-hander then had a temper tantrum and cut up many of the jerseys.

In the Instagram Live video, Sale had a bizarre admission to make — it was actually a knife, not scissors, that he used to cut up the jerseys.

While the tantrum was already a bad look on its own, using a knife as his weapon of choice instead of scissors makes Sale look completely deranged.

Sale, who is now with the Boston Red Sox, sparked several funny memes over Jerseygate, including some that labeled him as Edward Scissorhands. But it turns out we actually had the wrong cutting tool in mind all along.
