Report: Signs point to Kyle Schwarber making World Series roster
The possibility of Kyle Schwarber making the Chicago Cubs’ World Series roster appears to be realistic and not a dream.
Schwarber, who suffered two torn ligaments in his knee in April that were supposed to knock him out for the season, was sent to the Arizona Fall League on Saturday. He played in a game on Monday and went 1-for-3 with a walk, double and run scored.
Now FOX’s Ken Rosenthal says “all signs point” to the Cubs adding him to their World Series roster.
Scout who Schwarber in Arizona Fall League today said he hit ball hard three times against AA-caliber pitching, got robbed twice by shift.

Schwarber drew a walk in his other plate appearance. All signs point to him being on WS roster. #Cubs consider him a “freak.” However…

The downside to such a move is that if Schwarber re-injures himself during the World Series, the Cubs would not be able to replace him. Still, they may consider the risk to be worthwhile.
In nine postseason games last season, Schwarber smacked five home runs. That kind of pop has to be extremely appealing to the Cubs as they get set to play part of their World Series games in an American League park where the DH is available.
