Mets P David Aardsma says his bed went missing after blown save

David-Aardsma-MetsDavid Aardsma nearly lost the game for the New York Mets on Friday night. The reliever entered the game in the 9th inning with a 2-1 lead and allowed the Kansas City Royals to tie it up, resulting in a blown save. Fortunately, the Mets won anyway on a walk-off homer from Eric Young Jr. in the 11th. But it didn’t solve all of Aardsma’s problems.

When Aardsma returned home after the game, he found that the bed had been removed from his bedroom in his apartment. Or, so he says:

Aardsma then went on to crack a couple of jokes about his bed going missing.

I’m not really sure what the hell is going on here, to be honest. Would someone break into Aardsma’s apartment just to steal his bed and call it a day? My guess is he knows what happened to it, but he saw it as an opportunity to screw with people. If he wanted us to be puzzled, mission accomplished.

And if someone really did steal Aardsma’s bed, maybe that will teach him to not mock other pitchers who blow saves.
